Down boss Jimmy Reilly will miss Milligan's drive |
Mick Braniff replaces injured Barry Milligan in the Down team for Sunday's Allianz National Hurling League game against Kildare. A broken hand sustained in the victory over Westmeath last week has ruled out half-back Milligan for a month.
Gabriel Clarke is also unavailable for Sunday's match as he is on holiday.
The match will be played in Portaferry (1430 GMT) and not Ballycran as originally stated in the official GAA fixtures.
Derry have something of an injury crisis ahead of Sunday's Division 1 game against Cork at Pairc Ui rinn.
Gregory Biggs, Gary Biggs and Benny Ward remain out after missing last weekend's defeat by Offaly because of injury.
Convery debut
The injury-list is increased by the expected absences of Ryan Lynch (calf) and Emmett McKeever (ankle).
Danny McGrellis and Michael Collins are also troubled by knocks while John O'Dwyer will definitely miss the match because of work commitments.
The injury concerns means manager Dominic McKinley has left two vacancies in his starting line-up.
Derry minor player Ruairi Convery will make her first senior start in Sunday's encounter.
Meanwhile, five Down senior football panellists have been included in the county's U21 side for Saturday's Ulster Championship game against Monaghan at Newry (1530).
They are Daniel McCartan, John Clarke, Benny Coulter, Dan Gordon and Ronan Murtagh.
