Martin Harney is to make his National League debut against Waterford |
Ballinderry's Martin Harney is to make his National League debut for Derry against Waterford on Sunday.
Harney comes in to the Oak Leaf half-forward line in place of Ronan Rocks.
That is Mickey Moran's only change to the line-up which trounced Monaghan last Sunday.
However, Moran will be forced to make one more change if corner-forward Paddy Bradley fails a fitness test on the day of the Division 2B clash in Waterford.
Bradley picked up a knock while playing for UUJ in the Sigerson Cup varsity tournament on Wednesday.
Derry: M Conlon; S M Lockhart, N McCusker, K Doherty; P O'Kane, K McCloy, G Doherty; E Muldoon, F Doherty; M Harney, C Gilligan, B Murray; P Bradlay, D Dougan, G Diamond.
In Division 1B Cavan could be boosted by the early return of star forward Jason Reilly.
Reilly had been stretchered off during the two-point defeat to Fermanagh on 16 February with an ankle injury which was expected to keep him out of top flight action for six weeks.
However, Reilly took part in a light training session on Wednesday and Mattie Kerrigan is waiting for a fitness report before naming his team on Friday.
