O'Reilly out for six weeks
Jason O'Reilly picked up ankle lingament damage in Cavan's defeat by Fermanagh
O'Reilly scored Cavan's crucial goal in the 1997 Ulster final against Derry

Cavan forward Jason O'Reilly will be out of football for around six weeks after damaging ankle ligaments in last weekend's Allianz NFL defeat by Fermanagh.

O'Reilly had to leave the field early in the game after tangling with Fermanagh's Barry Owens.

The news means O'Reilly is likely to miss the games against Mayo, Laois and Down.

He is hoping to return for Cavan's game against Sligo on 6 April.

Meanwhile, Paul McFlynn will miss Derry's re-arranged NFL game against Monaghan in Ballinascreen on Sunday.

McFlynn has a leg muscle injury which means that Kevin McCloy will move from full-back to the number six jersey.

Niall McCusker will start at full-back while in attack Benny Murray replaces Darren Conway.

With Mickey Moran rotatating goalkeeping duties, Michael Conlon takes over from Shane McGuckin.

With John Conlon suspended after being sent off in last weekend's defeat by Wexford, Monaghan boss Colm Coyle selects John O'Brien at wing-back.

Kieran Tavey returns to the side after missing the defeat at Wexford Park because of illness.

The Monaghan side has a vacancy at midfield.

Meanwhile, Donegal's Kevin Cassidy will be available for the county's next NFL game against Tyrone on 2 March after having the red-card he received against Dublin overturned.

The GAA's Games Administration Committee took the decision after viewing video evidence of Cassidy's dismissal.

The GAC agreed with Cassidy's assertion that his challenge on Dublin's Barry Cahill had been shoulder-to-shoulder.

Cassidy will now be available for Sligo IT's Sigerson Cup game against DCU next Wednesday.

Murray ban

The GAC didn't look so kindly on Down's Gregory McCartan.

He was handed a four-week ban arising from his sending-off against Mayo.

Fergal O'Kelly, who was sent off in the same incident, was also given a four-week suspension.

Cork's Fionan Murray was given a eight-week ban after his dismissal against Kerry in the opening round of the NFL.

Roscommon's Jonathan Dunning, Limerick's Jason Stokes, Wicklow's Anthony Nolan and Westmeath's Shane Colleary all received a one-month ban.

Colleary's Westmeath team-mate Rory O'Connell received a two-week suspension.
