GAA reveal sponsorship deal
GAA president Sean McCague announced the new scheme on Tuesday
GAA president Sean McCague welcomed the deal
The GAA have announced a major sponsorship deal with Toyota.

This year's All-Ireland Football and Hurling Championship winners will earn a Toyota Corolla for their county boards.

The runner-ups in the All-Ireland finals will win a Toyota Yaris for the counties concerned.

It is anticipated that the cars will then be used for squads to raise funds for team holidays which invariably follow All-Ireland successes.

This year's Allianz National League winners in football and hurling will also earn a Toyota Corolla for the two counties.

This will have significant benefits for team panels

Next year, the deal will be extended to cover winners of the AIB All-Ireland Club titles.

The move will be interpreted by some as the GAA's response to the unofficial Gaelic Players' Association's scheme in which their players of the year in football and hurling win Seat Leons.

Also for the duration of the three-year deal, Allstar winners will also be offered a discount on a brand new Toyota during their term.

GAA president Sean McCague welcomed the sponsorship deal.

"The donation of Toyota cars to finalists of major GAA competitions will have significant benefits for team panels," said McCague.
