| Monday, 3 June, 2002, 15:09 GMT 16:09 UK Jefferies claims eighth TT success Jefferies secured his second victory of the meeting David Jefferies won the 1000cc Production race at the Isle of Man TT on Monday. He set a new lap speed record of 124.31mph as he rode to his eighth career TT success. It was the second victory of the meeting for the Yorkshireman after his Formula One success on Saturday. Ian Lougher of Wales was second, with Kiwi Bruce Anstey in third. Third place Enniskillen's Richard Britton was the best-placed local rider in seventh, with Adrian Archibald of Ballymoney finishing two places further back in ninth. Robert Dunlop, hoping to add to his five TT wins, had to settle for third place in Monday's Ultra-Lightweight 125cc race. The Ballymoney man had been quickest in practice but had to settle for coming third behind the winner Lougher and Jason Crumpton in second spot.
