Welsh Rally Champion Cole is going for his second crown |
Defending champion Damian Cole is targeting his second title in a row as the Welsh Rally Championship goes to the wire at the weekend. Hereford's Get Connected Hyundai Accent driver Cole enters the final event, the Cambrian Rally, in second place, behind leader Will Nicholls. "A win is essential on Saturday and any mistakes will cost me," Cole told BBC Hereford & Worcester. "There is pressure to perform when you are this close to winning." Cole added: "As soon as the first stage is underway the adrenalin will overtake the nerves and I plan to end the season on a high." The Cambrian Rally, which is being organised by the North Wales Car Club will start from Llandudno promenade at 0830 GMT on Saturday 1 November. The 2008 stages are being held in Penmachno and Clocaenog Forest.
