Ford star Martin is in third place in the drivers' standings |
Ford's Markko Martin will be fit to race in next week's Rally of Finland despite a severe accident in Argentina. The Estonian's car was written off after a high-speed crash which left him and co-driver Michael Park in hospital.
The pair have received the all-clear to compete in Finland, but will miss the warm-up Pirelli Rally this weekend.
Ford youngster Janne Tuohino will drive in the event after doctors advised Martin and Parks to rest ahead of the 6 August event in Finland.
Tuohino said: "It's a shame that Markko can't compete, but it's a great chance for me, and I think we've got a good chance of winning."
Martin was flown to hospital by air ambulance after the accident and was then transferred to Cordoba for a X-rays on his head, neck and chest before being discharged.
