Mear re-joined the Hammers for the 2011 season |
The Lakeside Hammers have completed the permanent signing of Robert Mear from the Rye House Rockets. Mear, who has ridden in every Hammers fixture this season, had previously been on-loan at the club but has now become a Hammers asset. Co-promoter Jon Cook said: "Our season hasn't really got started yet but he has been a huge positive. "It's important that we tied this deal up. (He is) an asset we hope will go on and lead the team in years to come." Mear has returned to the Hammers this season after a year out from the sport. The Hammers have had an indifferent start to their Elite League campaign, winning five and losing six of their opening eleven matches. They ride four times next week, with home matches against Wolverhampton and King's Lynn and trips to Peterborough and Coventry.
