Cook co-promotes the Hammers with Stuart Douglas

Lakeside Hammers co-promoter Jon Cook is confident his side's rider line-up will fall into place in the new year.

The Hammers are yet to add any new names to their roster ahead of 2011.

But Cook told BBC Essex: "There are a fair amount of riders around, we probably know where we are with our team at the moment.

"It would be a shock if we didn't get the team we set out to get, I would imagine it's just a case of crossing the t's and dotting the i's."

Jonas Davidsson and Joonas Kylmakorpi have already left the Arena Essex Raceway leaving Lee Richardson and Peter Ljung as the only definite Lakeside riders for next season's Elite League.

After a strong start to the 2010 campaign the Hammers fell away at the business end of the season, and Cook is on the hunt for team members who can inspire a play-off push.

"The aspiration is to build a team that will go and win something and we feel that's what we're doing," he said.

"It's fair to say we want to make sure the team's got a little bit more about it away from home.

"And a little bit more steel in the heat leading department."
