Somerset Rebels have re-signed American international rider Brent Werner as replacement for Jay Herne. Herne suffered a back injury at the season opener at Newport and is likely to be out for at least another week. Werner, 35, featured in the Rebels' 2008 line-up, scoring 282 points for the Highbridge team. He joins the side for Friday's cup visit to much-fancied King's Lynn. Ritchie Hawkins will move down to a reserve berth to make way for Werner.
