Bees battle back to beat Wolves

Captain Harris scored 12 points for the home side

Coventry Bees edged closer to the Elite League play-offs by coming from behind to beat Wolverhampton 47-43 at Brandon.

The table-toppers led for much of the meeting on Thursday but Bees kept plugging away and finally took the lead in Heat 14.

Ben Barker top scored with 14 points (paid 17) with skipper Chris Harris also reaching double figures.

"It was very tough. Luckily we pulled it out at the end," Harris told BBC Coventry & Warwickshire.

He added: "We had our little chat in the interval and sort of kicked each other up the backside.

"We knew what we could do and that we were better than what we were doing."

Bees are currently third in the table with two meetings left in the regular season.

But with the top four qualifying for the play-offs, Coventry will be extremely wary of fifth-placed Peterborough who are just five points behind them, and with an extra match in hand.
