Simon Stead rode for Coventry in 2008 |
Swindon Robins rider Simon Stead has said he is looking forward to the visit of his former team Coventry to the Abbey Stadium on Thursday. The Robins currently sit third in the Elite League table, two pints behind second-placed Coventry. Stead told BBC Wiltshire: "I guess I'll have a point to prove, I want to win every meeting for Swindon but this one would be sweeter." Swindon travel to Coventry for the return fixture on Friday. Coventry have won both of the Elite League meetings so far this season and Stead, who rode for the Bees in 2008, knows that they have some talented riders. "Chris Harris goes well around here, Olly Allen used to ride for Swindon and Rory Schlein is pretty much good everywhere," said Stead. Swindon will field the same team that lost at Wolverhampton in the Knockout Cup on Monday.
