Crump picked up his fourth Riders' title at Perry Barr |
Australia's double-world champion Jason Crump won the Elite League Riders' title for a fourth time at Perry Barr. Crump came home ahead of compatriot Rory Schlein, Denmark's Kenneth Bjerre and fellow Australian Leigh Adams. "I'm really happy. I had to change bikes early on but it worked out in the end," Crump told BBC WM. "It's a very prestigious meeting. I always treat it with respect, give it everything I've got and I've been lucky enough to win it a few times." Wolverhampton duo Niels-Kristian Iversen and Freddie Lindgren failed to qualify for the final. Iversen ended the night with seven points while Lindgren scored six. Nearly 6,000 fans packed into Perry Barr to watch the event and Crump was impressed with the way the show was put on in Birmingham. "It's fantastic that the authorities put on meetings like this at Premier League tracks," he added. "It gives the Elite League riders the chance to try out new circuits and the fans get a chance to see us ride. The whole sport of speedway's the winner."
