Birmingham Brummies were beaten 48-42 by reigning Premier League champions Rye House at Perry Barr on Wednesday.

Despite a 14-point haul from Tomasz Piszcz, the Brummies found that Rye House had too much strength in depth.

Skipper Jason Lyons survived an injury scare when he hit the fence in heat nine following a collision with Rye House's Tommy Allen.

Allen was taken to hospital with a suspected broken collarbone and took no further part in the meeting.

Tai Woffinden led the way for the Rockets with 12 points, while Piszcz has now scored 59 points in the last four meetings for the Brummies to ride himself into contention for a place at Perry Barr next season.
