Mildenhall are still to win their first Premier League point of the season
Mildenhall promoter Simon Barton has revealed talks about a proposed takeover of the club by businessman Allen Trump have collapsed.
Trump said in July that a deal was almost complete but Barton has told BBC Radio Suffolk that talks have ended.
"Allen has decided that he couldn't put the effort into Mildenhall that would be required to make it a good business proposition for him."
The Fen Tigers promoter is still hoping to talk to other potential buyers.
"We have got a number of conversations ongoing and I'm hopeful some of those will come to fruition and I'm also having a meeting with the BSPA (British Speedway Promoters' Association) so we can get some support from them as well."
Barton is still warning that failure to secure a new backer may result in the closure of the club.
"I think if we can't find some input then unfortunately Mildenhall Fen Tigers may have to close.
"It is possible, obviously my main aim is to maintain speedway at Mildenhall because that's always been my objective from day one."
