Ashworth set a new track record at the South tees Motorsport Park

Sheffield Tigers were unable to build on their away success at Mildenhall as they lost 54-39 to Redcar on Tuesday.

The meeting started in style with Ricky Ashworth setting a new track record in heat one but the Tigers hopes soon faded away.

At 23-12 down skipper Andre Compton pulled off an impressive tactical ride to cut the deficit to 5 points.

But the Bears dominated in the latter stages and eased to a comfortable 15-point victory.
