Alun Rossiter says his side deserved a share of the points |
Swindon defied the odds to seal a dramatic 45-45 draw against Belle Vue despite being able to field only one rider in four of the last eight races. The Robins lost Manuel Hauzinger and Seb Alden through injury in heat seven. They got lucky when Belle Vue rider Kevin Doolan's bike stopped on the last bend to allow Mads Korneliussen through to secure a share of the points. "I don't care what anyone says, we deserved it and I'm proud," manager Alun Rossiter told BBC Radio Swindon. Captain Leigh Adams added: "That was pretty unbelievable, but the boys dug deep and, to get the draw, that's what I call getting out of jail." Rossiter is now waiting on news of his two injured riders as he tries to patch a squad together for the Elite League 'A' meeting with Coventry on Friday. "Manuel is a bit bruised, and Seb has gone to hospital for an x-ray - he's got a swollen ankle," added Rossiter. "They won't feature against Coventry."
