Howe top-scored for Wolves against Poole |
Wolverhampton boss Peter Adams said he was proud of his side's effort after they slipped to a 46-44 defeat at home to Poole in the Elite League on Monday. Wolves went into the final heat leading by two points and only needed to share the last race to secure a shock win. But Poole responded in style to record a 5-1 maximum for their narrow victory. "Nobody gave us a chance of winning but I'm pleased with our efforts, it's a shame we lost but it was a fabulous meeting," Adams said. Wolves were without skipper Freddie Lindgren and lost Niels Kristian Iversen during the final heat. The Dane was returning from a three-week absence after recovering from a dislocated shoulder but crashed during the deciding race. David Howe top-scored for Wolves with an 11+1 haul. Wolves stay bottom of the Elite League table and go to Eastbourne in the Knockout Cup on Saturday.
