Peterborough's Hans Andersen is hoping a new engine in his motorbike will set him up for a successful weekend at the Danish Grand Prix in Copenhagen.

The Dane is eighth in the Championship table with 28 points, 21 points behind leader Nicki Pedersen who is on 49.

He told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "We made a change because we had a disappointing GP in Poland.

"Whether it's better or not it's hard to say, but it's a fresh start and we've got belief in the engines again."

Andersen is confident he can get himself in to the top three places.

I've won it before and I know exactly what it feels to win one, it's just an incredible feeling

"I've got to have a target of a rostrum finish," he said. "Eighth might seem bad at the moment but there are only 10 points to second place.

"It's really tight at the moment but a good GP is going to shoot me right up the standings and hopefully I'll find myself in third or second place after Saturday."

The 27-year-old sees the Danish Grand Prix as the highlight of his season.

"It's the GP of the year and has the highest priority being the home one.

"I've won it before and I know exactly what it feels to win one, it's just an incredible feeling.

"In previous years I always seem to be riding fairly good in the Danish one and I hope on Saturday it will be the same."
