Hauzinger scored eight points on his Swindon debut (Les Aubrey) |
Swindon are back on top of the Elite League after an impressive 53-39 win over Eastbourne at the Abbey Stadium. New signing Manuel Hauzinger was the man of the match for the Robins scoring eight points from his four rides. The Austrian told BBC Radio Swindon it was a dream debut thanks to a lot of help from captain Leigh Adams. "I thought if I could score one point I would be really happy, but Leigh is helping me, he told me what to do and it worked brilliantly for me." Hauzinger added: "I was thinking all the time about making the step up to the Elite League and I am really happy because it takes the pressure away."
Adams was the Robins top scorer picking up paid 11 while Swindon asset Lee Richardson was the main threat from Eastbourne scoring 14 points. Meanwhile Swindon reserve James Wright has said he is delighted with the way the whole team is performing. "With us all firing now and everyone scoring points it just seems easier, I'm enjoying myself.
