Poole Pirates have gone top of speedway's Elite League for the first time this season, after a 55-37 win over Wolverhampton Wolves. Magnus Zetterstrom led the way with a paid 17-point haul, backed by Aussies Chris Holder (12) and Davy Watt (10). Wolves' defeat came despite guest Chris Harris racking up 16 points. The Coventry man, in for injured Niels Kristian Iversen, dropped just two points from his five outings, as Wolves suffered 12 of the 15 last places. Pirates boss Neil Middleditch said: "It's nice to back on top of the table, but now we have to stay there. "I was more than pleased with the way the team performed. "Wolverhampton kept us on our toes early on but we upped our game and ran out comprehensive winners. "We lost Daniel Davidsson early in the meeting, but Zetterstrom rode his heart out and proved to be our trump card."
