Leigh Adams dropped just four points in his five qualifying rides

Swindon Robins captain Leigh Adams got his world championship campaign back on track on Saturday by winning the second round of the Speedway GP in Poland.

The Australian claimed the title ahead of American Greg Hancock in front of 24,000 spectators at Leszno.

Adams is now fourth in the overall standings on 25 points, eight behind current world champion Nicki Pedersen.

"This really is awesome, especially to win in Leszno, my home Polish league track," said the 37-year-old.

"The result is huge for me and I must thank my mechanics and support team for doing such a professional job this weekend.

"I swapped machinery half way through the meeting and from that point on I was unstoppable.

"My Grand Prix campaign starts here, I've put the disappointing result in Slovenia to bed and I'm looking to develop the momentum I've gathered tonight."
