Wolves roar to huge home victory

Wolverhampton returned to winning ways with a comfortable 59-33 victory over Peterborough in the Elite League.

Skipper Freddie Lindgren was unbeaten by opponents on his way to 11 points, Niels Kristian Iversen matching his haul and Ales Dryml adding 10.

Iversen registered the key win in heat five when the Panthers nominated Hans Andersen for double points, the Dane denying his former club in style.

Dryml was only beaten by an opponent in the final heat on an impressive night.

There was controversy in heat nine when Iversen was excluded after being accused of forcing Daniel King off his bike on the final lap.

Although the home officials felt the decision was unfair, they let their protests lie rather than risk delaying the meeting as rain was threatening to end the match early.

In a fine all-round team performance Christian Hefenbrock and Nicolai Klindt added eight points apiece for Wolves, David Howe chipping in with seven.

Kenneth Bjerre led Peterborough with 11 points, Hans Andersen notching nine.
