Wolves head to Swindon looking for a first away win
Swindon Robins extended their lead at the top of the Elite League table with a 50-42 victory over Wolverhampton at the Abbey Stadium on Thursday.
The sides were level on 37 points after 12 heats, but the hosts secured victory with maximums in the next two races.
Seb Alden and Travis McGowan wrapped things up for the Robins with a match-winning ride in heat 14.
"It was a great team effort and we had to dig deep, and we did it," McGowan told BBC Radio Swindon.
"It was feeling really good today, early on in the meeting I had to battle a little bit too hard, I wasn't quite fast enough.
"But we made a change with the bike and came out firing."
Swindon are now four points clear of Eastbourne at the top of the Elite League, while Wolverhampton are eighth, one point ahead of bottom club Ipswich.
