Mildenhall have lost all seven of their meetings so far this season |
Mildenhall have completed the signing of former Somerset rider Henning Loof. The Fen Tigers originally targeted the German in the winter but he chose to head to the Oak Tree Arena instead. But Loof's time in the West Country was dogged by injury and machine problems and the Rebels decided to release him on Tuesday. Loof's signing wasn't completed in time for Thursday's trip to Redcar so he is likely to make his Mildenhall debut against Kings Lynn on Saturday. Mildenhall promoter Simon Barton told the club's website: "Henning has wanted to be a Fen Tiger for quite a while but we were never in a position to offer him a team spot and were beaten to his signature by Somerset. "Our thanks to [Somerset promoter] Mike Golding for informing us of what was happening and Laurence Rogers [Mildenhall's team manager] for speedily sorting things out. "We now look forward to getting the best out of Henning and with his fellow countryman and good friend Robbie Kessler alongside him in the team I am sure we will." Loof will ride at number four for the Fen Tigers where he will partner Kaj Laukkanen.
