Swales' patience tested by Simota

Speedway

Peterborough Panthers team boss Trevor Swales has admitted he is running out of patience with Sam Simota.

The Czech rider failed to score for the second successive meeting in the Panthers' 49-41 home win over Ipswich Witches on Monday.

Swales said: "That's two meetings now and two no scores, so how long can we allow that to go on for?

"I think we've been patient with Sam but unfortunately he doesn't even show flashes of the form he's capable of."

Swales is concerned that Simota's series of low scores is increasing the pressure on his team-mates.

We should be looking for positives and not the negatives in the situation as it is at the moment

He told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "It's OK when everyone else is firing really well but it then puts the pressure on people like Henrik Moller and Morten Risager who [have to] score above their average to make up for Sam.

"That's something we're going to have to look at very, very closely, and indeed it's something we are looking at closely as we speak."

However, Swales insists there are reasons for Panthers to be optimistic.

He said: "A lot of teams have lost at home this year and thankfully we aren't in that category.

"We were the only team that won at home last night.

"That's a positive and we should be looking for positives and not the negatives in the situation as it is at the moment."
