Simmons to switch pairings around

Chris Louis
Bike problems restricted Chris Louis to a single-figure score

Ipswich Witches team boss Pete Simmons is planning to change team pairings after another Elite League defeat at Peterborough Panthers on Monday.

The Witches lost 49-41 despite being ahead by six points after eight heats.

Simmons said: "We will be changing the pairings around in an attempt to be stronger towards the end of meetings.

"We've ridden four Elite League matches and have led in each meeting, yet failed to win any - we made some mistakes at crucial times."

Simmons admitted a puncture for Robert Miskowiak and bike problems for Chris Louis cost them points but was happy with the performance of Steve Johnston and Tobi Kroner, as well as guest rider Chris Holder.

The Witches' next meeting is against Eastbourne at home on Thursday.
