Allen had been in good form this season (Jeff Davies) |
Coventry Bees suffered a 53-39 defeat by Poole Pirates in their first Elite League meeting away from Brandon. Billy Janniro and captain Chris Harris were the only visiting riders to make double figures at Wimborne Road, scoring paid 15 and 14 respectively. Coventry, already without Rory Schlein for the meeting, lost Olly Allen when he sustained suspected concussion in only his second ride of the evening. The defending champions have just three points from their first four meetings. Meanwhile, Bees have confirmed the dates for their two-legged Craven Shield semi-final with Pirates. They head for South Coast on Wednesday, 30 April before hosting the second leg two days later.
