 Howe added 11 points to Iversen's 14-point haul |
Niels Kristian Iversen was the star as Wolverhampton dumped Ipswich out of the Elite League Knockout Cup with a 54-38 second-leg win on Monday. The Dane scored 14 points at Monmore Green as the home side overturned an eight-point deficit from last week's first leg to win 96-88 on aggregate. Wolves took the overall lead in heat nine when Iversen claimed the win and Kenneth Hansen came in third. And reserve Nicolai Klindt secured the aggregate victory, winning heat 14. David Howe was Wolves' second leading scorer on the night with 11 points, skipper Freddie Lindgren and Klindt each adding eight. Piotr Swidesrki led the Witches with 15 points, Robert Miskowiak and Jarek Hampel notching six apiece. Wolves return to Elite League action on Saturday, 12 April at Eastbourne, with the return meeting against the Sussex club at Monmore on Monday, 14 April. Both meetings start at 1930 BST.
