Piotr Swiderski is already a hit with Witches fans |
The Ipswich Witches are hoping to strengthen their position in the Craven Shield when they host the Peterborough Panthers at Foxhall on Thursday. The Witches lost narrowly at Alwalton on Monday but manager Peter Simmons is expecting an improvement at home in the return fixture.
Simmons said: "I am very hopeful of a good result on Thursday.
"We ran them very close at Peterborough when Jarek Hampel and Steve Johnston had bike problems."
Ipswich are awaiting the results of medical tests from Poland on Robert Miskowiak who has been feeling unwell in recent weeks.
The Witches are expected to be otherwise unchanged with Piotr Swiderski poised to move into a heat-leaders position following Monday's tie.
Peterborough have named a full-strength team including former Ipswich favourites Hans Andersen and Daniel King who both have considerable experience on the Foxhall track.
