Piotr Swiderski impressed at his former home |
Ipswich Witches loan signing Piotr Swiderski could inch up the pecking order after top scoring with a paid 16 points on his return to Peterborough. "He could be moving up to heat leader very shortly," Witches manager Pete Simmons told BBC Radio Suffolk.
"I know he rode at Peterborough for a season and a half, but he's doing superbly well."
Despite Swiderski's efforts the Witches lost the first-leg of the Craven Shield tie by four points.
However the Witches are still in with a chance of qualifying for the later stages of the competition.
Polish star Jarek Hampel was hampered by engine trouble and Robert Miskowiak only managed a single point due to illness.
Peterborough will bring Foxhall favourites Hans Andersen and Daniel King for the return leg on Thursday 27 March.
Simmons added: "I'd just like to see Piotr up against Hans at Foxhall.
"He seemed to show him round the East of England Showground. Let's hope he can do the same on Thursday."
