Podium takes Redding into top 10

Scott Redding saved his best result of the season for his home 125cc Moto GP.

Redding finished third in a five lap sprint after the original race was stopped after 13 laps because of rain.

He told BBC Gloucestershire: "Any track is fine in wet or dry conditions but in between it's very slippery. At least it was the same for everyone.

"The team instructions were to push hard, and my uncle said to go for it like I did in my mini-bike days. It was amazing to be on the podium again."

Redding is in the second year of a two-year deal with the Blusens Aprilia team, but his manager Roger Keys says a move out of the 125cc class is almost inevitable at the end of the season.

Keys said: "He's too heavy and he's a bit too big. He needs to move up to Moto 2 and he's experienced enough to do that.

"The Blusens team already have a bike but I have to be honest and say that we will be talking to other teams about next year."
