Plater won two BSB races in a previous spell with the Honda team |
Steve Plater is to deputise for HM Plant Honda's Josh Brookes in round one of the British Superbike Championships at Brands Hatch on Easter Monday. The Woodhall Spa racer is competing for the Louth-based team in this season's British Supersport Championships. But he will stand in for Brookes after the Australian was denied entry to the UK because of visa problems. Plater said: "It's going to be a busy weekend for me but I thrive on being busy and can do both classes justice." HM Plant Honda say the situation arose because immigration laws regarding visas have changed, but that they hope the matter will be resolved in time for Brookes to make his BSB debut in round two at Oulton Park in May.
