Patulea is Lincoln's top scorer with 11 goals this season
Lincoln City manager Peter Jackson has rejected striker Adrian Patulea's fears that he could have played his last game for the club.
The Romanian, whose contract expires in June, made the claim after picking up a hamstring strain which may have ended his season, at Chesterfield on Tuesday.
Jackson told BBC Radio Lincolnshire: "I think it was a silly comment to make.
"We will be sitting down to discuss things with Adi, he's done really well and has a good goalscoring record."
Patulea limped off 10 minutes from time after scoring his 11th goal of the season in the 1-1 draw at Saltergate and afterwards said: "When they want to discuss my contract I will be happy to discuss with them but I feel that this will be the last applause for me."
Jackson said on Thursday: "I don't know why he made that comment.
"For him to say that was probably a little bit immature after the event, he was perhaps upset that he could miss the rest of the season and, if we get to them, the play-offs as well."
