Smith passed his road test back in Oxfordshire

Oxfordshire's 125cc MotoGP star Bradley Smith admits he is relieved to pass his motorcycle road test.

The 17-year-old, who is currently seventh in the world championship, told BBC Oxford that he did contemplate the embarrassment of failure.

"It was going through my mind, reading some headline, 'Smith fails bike test'.

"It was more difficult than riding a bike on a circuit. So many more things can go wrong. I admire the guys who ride on the road every day."

But Smith is unlikely to be a regular feature on the roads anytime soon because of his full-time schedule of professional racing.

"It's definitely something I will think about in the future but at the moment I will stick to the racing on the circuit."
