Plater has had a great year including a debut win on the Isle of Man TT |
Lincolnshire's Steve Plater has finished sixth in the 24-hour Bol d'Or race at Magny-Cours. Plater's team had to replace a radiator after a stone caused damage two hours into the race last weekend. Team-mate Sebastien Gimbert was also then involved in accident, forcing Plater to take more turns on the bike. Plater said: "We had a very eventful time of it out there, Sebastien is a bit battered but he will be OK for his World Superbike ride at the weekend." "The rain didn't help our cause either, and doing a double stint on the bike each time made it seem forever till the chequered flag was waved at us. "I did make good time through the night but it was obvious we were never going to be in contention for the win - which we should have been," he added. Plater returns to domestic action next weekend with the AIM Yamaha team in the penultimate round of the British Supersport Championship.
