Bayliss is targeting a third world title before retiring |
Troy Bayliss claimed pole position for round 11 of the World Superbike Championship at Donington Park. The Australian Ducati Xerox rider clocked one minute 42.013 seconds around a damp Donington to claim his sixth pole of the season. Compatriot Troy Corser was on target to snatch pole but he tumbled off his Yamaha going into the final corner. Bayliss has an 82-point lead over Max Neukirchner, who starts on the fourth row, at the top of the standings. Sunday's first race gets under way at 1200 BST, with the second race at 1530.
