Ryan Farquhar won the Superbike and 600 races at the Skerries 100 |
Dungannon's Ryan Farquhar completed a Superbike and 600 double at Saturday's Skerries 100 road races near Dublin. Farquhar took the Superbike honours ahead of runner-up Keith Amor from Scotland and Victor Gilmore. Later in the day Farquhar won the 600cc race with William Dunlop in second place and Gary Johnson third. Ballymoney rider Dunlop, however, took the chequered flag in the 250 race ahead of brother Michael who celebrated victory in the 125 event. Johnson, from Lincolnshire, broke his collarbone in the final race of the day in an accident in which a spectator was seriously injured. A second rider, Michael Weldon from Swords, escaped
with minor injuries. The spectator, a 70-year-old man from Cookstown in County Tyrone, was badly burnt when ignited
fuel landed on him.
