Rider Bruce Anstey with team boss Philip Neill |
The Relentless TAS Suzuki team have apologised after being found guilty of a technical infringement which saw Bruce Anstey stripped of a TT win. Philip Neill, boss of the Northern Ireland-based team, said they had held their hands up over the mistake. Anstey was first in Monday's Supersport race but organisers found his camshift lift was outside the limit. "We have made a genuine mistake. An after-market part had been marked incorrectly," said Neill. "Our engine builder is disappointed that he did not discover the discrepancy. We are all human and mistakes can happen. "The TT organisers are also stating this was not a deliberate attempt to cheat. I would like to apologise to all the other competitors and congratulate the new winner of the race. "The way forward is to correct the mistake and hopefully give Bruce the opportunity to win the TT Supersport race two on Wednesday."
