Robert Dunlop was the winner of the 125cc race last year |
The winner of the 125cc race at this year's Dundrod 150 is to be credited with an Ulster Grand Prix victory. The four-race Dundrod meeting will be run on Thursday 14 August, two days before the main raceday of the annual Ulster Grand Prix Bike Week. Robert Dunlop won last year's 125cc event, after a battle with long-time race rival, Welshman Ian Lougher. Dunlop is again likely to contest this year's event, taking in both the 125cc and 250cc classes. Cameron Donald is already looking forward to this year's Ulster Grand Prix meeting. Australian Donald was among the big names at Wednesday evening's launch of this year's event. "It's the closest racing of the three international races. It always has some exciting finishes," said Donald. John McGuinness is expected to compete in the meeting, a year after his lap record heroics at Dundrod. McGuinness produced a lap time of 131.7mph during the Dundrod 150 - a world-record time for a road race. Ian Hutchinson, Bruce Anstey, Guy Martin, Adrian Archibald, Martin Finnegan, William Dunlop and Ryan Farquhar are among the other big names expected to compete at the meeting. BBC Northern Ireland and BBC Radio Ulster will have extensive coverage of the event. Also, this year's race programme will be the responsibility of Careva Publishing for the first time.
