John McGuinness is likely to compete in the 250cc UGP race |
The 250cc race at the 2008 Ulster Grand Prix will form part of a 'King of the 250s Mini Championship', also taking in the North West 200 and Isle of Man TT. The three-round series will reach its finale at the Dundrod event in August with the Rea Estates-sponsored race.
Among the leading riders set to take part are John McGuinness, Ian Lougher, Robert Dunlop and William Dunlop.
Robert will ride a Roy Hanna Motors 250cc Honda at a number of road races this year and all three internationals.
Dunlop has not competed in that class since his major crash at the TT in 1994.
His son William scored his first international road race success at last year's Ulster Grand Prix in the 250cc class and Michael Dunlop should also be on the grid.
McGuinness will again be backed by Padgett's in this class but says he is unlikely to race in the Isle of Man round of the series.
