Hickman was due to ride for Q Motorsport in Valencia on 5 April |
Lincolnshire racer Peter Hickman has seen his season fall into turmoil days before it is due to start. The 20-year-old was set to compete in the European superstock championships with Q Motorsport, but financial problems have led to their withdrawal. He told BBC Radio Lincolnshire: "We did a couple of tests and everything was going well, then things just collapsed. "I've since tested for a team in the world endurance championships but at the minute I'm still without a ride." | Getting the bike is not the expensive part, it's running it |
Hickman has secured a one-off outing in Sunday's opening round of the Suzuki GSX-R European cup at Valencia, but should he miss out on a place with the Stage One endurance team the former British superbike racer has his sights set on a return to a domestic series. I'm looking at running in the national superstock championship, but obviously there's the funding issue with that, so I'm looking for sponsorship. He added: "Getting the bike is not the expensive part, it's running it. Hopefully I'll get something together and I'll take it round by round."
