Bruce Wilson in practice at Snetterton (Dean Owen) |
Bruce Wilson goes into the first round of the national junior superstock championship on 6 April hoping it will be a stepping stone to bigger things. Wilson, 21, from Gyspey Bridge near Boston will ride a Suzuki in the series, which is a support round of the British superbike championships. "To have this opportunity and to be able to race at this level is a dream," he told BBC Radio Lincolnshire. "But I don't want to stop here, I want to be in the superbike class itself." The first race will take part at Brands Hatch and Wilson added: "There are so many teams now in the BSB paddock. You're in the shop window every single race." The 600cc machines raced in the series are subject to strict regulations as to what modifications can be made, which should in theory provide a level playing field. "It's quite a fair championship," Wilson told BBC Radio Lincolnshire. "It really does come down to rider ability. "The team have built some really good bikes for me. I'm sure the bikes are more than capable and I intend to be as well."
