 Michael Laverty won Sunday's Sunflower Trophy event |
Michael Laverty claimed his fifth Sunflower Trophy success in six years at Sunday's meeting at Bishopscourt. The Toomebridge rider beat early leader Alistair Seeley into second with Ian Lowry third and Marshall Neill, Steve Brogan and Declan Swanton close behind.
Michael Pearson won Irish Superbike race one and was seventh in race two to claim the championship with Laverty winning the second race for his double.
Ian Lowry won both 600cc races from Marty Nutt and Marshall Neill.
Thomas Lawlor and William Dunlop were the 250cc race winners, Nikki Coates and Robbie Stewart shared the 125cc honours and Lee Hill won both 400cc events.
Relentless TAS Suzuki riders Laverty and Lowry will take the plaudits for their two wins apiece while Pearson won the Irish Superbike series by just 2.5 points from Brian McCormack.
Laverty picked up �3,000 for his Sunflower race win in which Kirk Jamison, Keith Amor, Marty Nutt and BJ Toal completed the top ten.
