William Dunlop made his IOM TT debut in 2006

The 22-year-old suffered a fractured wrist at the Cookstown 100 and confined his efforts to the 250cc class at the Tandragee 100 and the North West 200.

"I had the treatment before Tandragee and it helped me so I'm having a large dose this time to speed up my recovery.

"I'm fairly confident I'll be fit and I'll give it a go anyhow," said Dunlop.

The eldest son of multiple TT winner Robert made his debut at the Island races last year and is keen to see more of the action.

"Last year I just rode the 600cc bike and I had hoped to ride a Superbike as well this year but it will not be possible now. I just couldn't handle it.

"The wrist is working well but it is just a bit uncomfortable and I want to be ready to go for the first practice session on Saturday week.

"The laser treatment I had in Ipswich certainly did the trick last time round and helped me to race at Tandragee just six days after breaking the wrist so I'm hoping for more of the same this time round."

William won the 250cc race at Tandragee and finished fifth in the same category at the North West.

His brother Michael will campaign both Supersport and Superbike machinery on his TT debut.
