 Davies had a frustrating 2006 season |
Chaz Davies is considering racing in America next season to help secure his long-term goal of a MotoGP ride after a frustrating year in 250cc racing. Davies made a one-off appearance in the AMA Supersport series last season and told BBC Hereford and Worcester that his performance had created a stir.
"The team I raced for are definitely interested - there's a contract laid down already," he said.
"There's another team. I've not talked to the boss but they're interested."
Davies had a disappointing 2006 after being dropped by his Campetella Racing team mid-season for financial reasons.
At the moment, America looks like his most viable option for next season.
"We're still trying for MotoGP, but it's unlikely as most of the spots are filled," he said.
"It's the best championship in the world and the hardest, together with 250 and 125.
"But if you're not given the right opportunities and equipment, then you might as well not bother."
On the subject of America, he said he had to prove he was not a 'one-hit wonder'.
"I know what I can do, but obviously they don't, so it's difficult for them to sign up a rider on the basis of one race, but I think if I did go over there, then I could do some good."
"We're going to wait and see, and hopefully that will be resolved in the next couple of weeks."
