Michael Laverty has won a record four consecutive Sunflower races |
Michael Laverty will hope to win the Sunflower Trophy for the fifth consecutive year when he competes at Bishopscourt on Saturday 14 October. The Toomebridge rider has had mixed results with the Stobart Honda team this season and is unsure which bike he will be riding to defend his title.
Among his challengers are expected to be TAS Suzuki duo Tom Sykes and Bruce Anstey and former winner Marty Nutt.
Guy Martin, Marshall Neill and a two-man Hawk Kawasaki team are entered.
Martin will be aboard the AIM Yamaha which took him to victory at the Ulster Grand Prix while Neill will join the Suzuki campaigners.
Carl Rennie, Ian Hutchinson and Ryan Farquhar could all be in contention to ride the highly competitive Kawasakis.
Alistair Seeley and Kirk Jamison should also be in the running as they battle it out to become Irish Superbike champion.
The 11-race programme boasts a prize fund of 21,300 and the main Sunflower race offers 3,000 to the winner of the 12-lap event.
There will be races for Superbikes, Supersports, 400ccs, 125ccs and sidecars.
