Ryan Farquhar helped organise the Bush 100 road races |
Ryan Farquhar says he is "95 per cent sure" that he will be fit to race at the Ulster Grand Prix on 19 August. The TAS Suzuki rider had been doubtful about his prospects of competing at Dundrod after doctors had warned him he could miss the rest of the season.
Farquhar suffered neck and arm injuries in a crash at Cookstown in April.
"I have to go back to the hospital on 31 July to get the all-clear and while the arm wouldn't be strong enough now, I'm training hard to get fit," he said.
The 30-year-old, who missed the North West 200, the Isle of Man TT and his recent home race the Bush 100 at Dungannon, will undergo an MRI scan in the next few weeks.
This weekend he heads off to spectate at the Scarborough road races but hopes to return to race at the Gold Cup meeting at Scarborough.
Farquhar will also take in two Classic races at the Manx Grand Prix, riding a 350 Aermacchi in the Junior race and a 500 Norton in the Senior class.
