 Corser leads the Superbike Championship standings |
World Superbike Championship leader Troy Corser was fastest in the opening qualifying session in Monza. Britain's defending champion James Toseland, who is 10th in the overall standings after three rounds, was fifth quickest on his Ducati Xerox.
Corser's Alstare Suzuki team-mate Yukio Kagayama of Japan was second with Australia's Karl Muggeridge third on his Winston Honda.
The PSG-1 Kawasaki of fellow Briton Chris Walker came in ninth.
