John Laverty failed to mount a challenge at Oulton Park |
Northern Ireland riders failed to make an impact in the fourth round of the British Superbikes Championship at Oulton Park on Monday. Jonathan Rea (12th & ninth) was the best in superbikes with Michael Laverty (13th/10th), John Laverty (14th/DNF) and Marty Nutt (20th/19th) well back.
Ryan Rainey was eighth in superstock while there was a disappointing 26th for Thruxton winner Adrian Coates.
Eugene Laverty was 13th in supersport and Ian Lowry fourth in the R6 Cup.
Marshall Neill was two places behind Rainey in superstock while Stephen Thomspon was 14th.
The local contingent went into Monday's racing on the back of impressive displays in qualifying.
John Laverty started eighth in the superbikes while Adrian Coates was second quickest in the superstock class.
Honda rider Ryuichi Kiyonari of Japan won both superbike races.
